On 15th January, just recently, actually, H and I came across this beautiful tabby (looks like seal point?) kitten. Okay, maybe not a kitten but its either:
- I subconsciously compared the stray to Prince and yes, Prince is huge (vet says he might have maine coon blood in him) so therefore, I declared her a kitten. Or,
- She's just small-looking to me compared to other strays around the area. Now, I am not sure is this even earns a place to reason number 1 but whatever.
It was my first time seeing her at all in the area. I'm sure I would have remembered a pretty little kitten like that.
Her ears were tipped, so she's definitely a stray. The tip was quite obvious too, don't know which vet so jealous that he/she couldn't keep her so decided to make the tip so obvious when he/she was doing the sterilisation operation. Wth man.
Here she is,
One of the first few pictures I got of her.
Then we decided that she was going to come home (not really my home but still home) with me to live with Prince. I think in this picture, her tipped left ear is pretty obvious now.
TOO obvious, actually. >:(
Not that I find it ugly and mind and all that, maybe just a little bit.
Ya fine I do. But I don't mind there's no way to untip that now is there.
This picture was taken a few days after Prince and newly named Snowbelle got associated with each other's smell. I started to give them treats when they are in sight of each other.
Surprisingly, Prince did not give as much aggressive reaction to Snowbelle even tho he did it to other strays that we brought up to the house. None of those strays dared to come in anyway, with Prince hissing and growling like his life depended on it.
Snowbelle was named by H. Initially it was Snow. Then we started to think of pretty flowery names for her, literally. But we couldn't find anything that looked like it suited her so we stuck to Snow until H decided to add 'belle' at the back of her name.
Yes, Belle with an 'e'. I double-checked with H to make sure.
Thinking about it, if I don't get her to recognise her name, I'd have to start calling her anything that comes to my mind so if she likes that word, she will choose it as her name.
Just like Prince, then. Prince was originally named Mister Fluffers by the SPCA and before that I was looking for a cat that I would like to name 'susu' which means milk in malay.
Now, don't judge me. Yes I chose the name for a cat first and then a real cat that would fit the name second. I know the order is wrong but it didn't follow through and H decided that Prince would come home with us, and with a fluffy cat looking so majestic as hell, a mere 'susu' will not do for a name. H did not let me name him susu.
And apparently, Prince agreed with H because when H decided to name him Prince, Prince turned. Everytime we say his name, he turns. Idiot cat thinking he's so atas and all. I wonder if he looks down on Snowbelle now, thinking that she's just going to stay here for a while becos she has no home and all that shit okay I'm getting carried away.
Oh yes, before I forget, that picture up there is Prince falling asleep and snuggling by my bag as usual while Snowbelle is uneasy and keeps peeping at him. Prince is ignoring her.
Other times when Prince is in the room and on the bed, Snowbelle takes to hiding under the other bed. (There is two single beds in H's room.)
Got closer and tried to take another photo from the sideview. Too cute!!!
I was annoying her today and I guess she got tired of flipping from side to side until she stayed like this. For maybe around 1 minute.
And then her face was like this for a while too, long enough for me a snap a quick one before I put my finger into her mouth and she tried to bite me to pieces. Did not succeed.
Got distracted with an old-school toy that I bought H. Look at that pretty face.
(I'll try to rotate my pictures before uploading them next time. For now, just tilt your head to the left, 90 degrees.)
There's this small little ledge that is maybe the length of my thumb at the window. Snowbelle looks out sometimes and this is how she does it. After a while I will start bringing her to the park for walks with Prince but not until Prince and Snowbelle are comfortable with each other.
Okay right now the strays under my block are screaming and making scary children screaming voices and it is 4am. Bye.
Decided to do something about the noise and yup, a little water does do the trick.
